Hello Angkor Guide

My name is Chanra a licensed tour guide for all the Angkor archaeological parks and other sites across Cambodia. I was born in Siem Reap province after the rule of the Khmer Rouge. During those dark and violent years, two of my brothers and sister were tragically killed, but four of my sibling and my parents managed to survive. In the aftermath of the regime, I attended my first school at a pagoda or Buddhist temple at age 13. It was there that I learned to write my first words in the Cambodian language by tracing letters in the dirt, chalkboards, books, pencils and paper were not available for the students. I’m luckily because of I really was born 1 years after the war of Khmer Rouge finished but I was raised up through a tumultuous and chaotic period in Cambodia’s history.
